Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (PCU) position requiring cardiothoracic/cardiac experience, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 trauma background.
Details
- Miller 3 Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an academic medical center setting
- Cardiac Progressive Care Stepdown with Telemetry and Surgical focus
- 12-hour night shifts, Monday through Sunday schedule
- Every weekend required — no block schedules permitted
- Floating to like units required
- Epic EMR used; experience from within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Candidates without A-Line experience may be considered if they have open-heart (CABG) post-op Day 1 experience
Requirements
- Active RN license — VT or Compact license accepted; NY candidates may be considered with proof of a pending NY license
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start; PCCN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in a PCU or like unit
- Cardiothoracic and vascular nursing experience required
- Post-op Day 1 open and/or closed heart experience required
- Cardiac nursing experience required
- Large trauma Level 1 facility experience within the past year required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- All work history must include bed count, EMR, and facility type/trauma level
Additional Information
- This position is interview-to-offer (IVO) — no extended interview process
- Employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained
- Public transportation is not accessible in this area — reliable personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
- Religious or medical exemption documentation must be submitted if applicable
