Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Radiology - CT Scanning department, requiring ARRT RT(R) and RT(CT) certifications along with an active NJ license.

Details

• Acute care hospital radiology department, CT scanning unit with 3 CT rooms (CT 1, 2, and 3)
• Patient population includes emergency, trauma, and scheduled radiology cases
• Performs contrast-enhanced CT studies including Code Grey, Trauma, and Partial Trauma cases requiring immediate imaging turnaround
• Uses PACS/RIS system for image acquisition, processing, and verification
• Epic EMR for charting
• 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• On-call is required
• Floating to a sister hospital nearby may be required as needed

Requirements

• ARRT RT(R) and ARRT RT(CT) certifications required
• Active NJ State X-Ray License (NJDEP) required — license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Completion of an accredited Radiographer or College-based Radiography program required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 2 references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing CT imaging procedures, triaging and coordinating emergency and unscheduled procedure requests, and maintaining efficient workflow within the department
• Assesses patients for contrast tolerance, screens for allergies and medication incompatibilities, and monitors patient condition before and after contrast administration
• Serves in a Point Staff role when assigned, coordinating patient transport, staff assignments, and communications across departments
• Maintains and stocks CT supplies, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage materials; participates in daily inventory
• Performs routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use and maintains QA/QC requirements per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications
• Adheres to venipuncture and power injector protocols
• Notifies the radiologist of Code Grey image transmissions and any unusual findings
• Candidates must be able to live within the travel assignment requirements; no local candidates accepted (50-mile radius rule applies)
