Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring 3 years of OR experience, DC licensure, and on-call availability every other weekend.

Details

• Hospital operating room setting
• 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
• Shift hours run 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM
• One 12-hour on-call shift required every other weekend

Requirements

• Active RN license in Washington, DC required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• CPI certification required for this position
• Minimum of 3 years of OR experience required, with at least 2 years in a US hospital setting
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months (at least one from most recent employer)
• US Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures and department admissions to the operative suite
• Prepares the OR for the patient and surgical procedure, assembles equipment and supplies, and ensures equipment is functional and implants are available
• Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques throughout all procedures
• Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
• Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and members of the operating team
• Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
