Description

American Traveler is hiring a Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in IR procedures including neuro and body interventions for a 13-week contract assignment.

Details

• Inpatient hospital interventional radiology setting serving a majority adult and geriatric population, with some adolescent cases
• Procedures include stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral, biopsies, drainages, upper and lower extremity, abdominal and pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, venous access, and neurological studies including stroke intervention
• Daily caseload of 13–17 cases
• Uses Siemens and Philips x-ray equipment; Acuson preferred
• Epic and McKesson EMR experience preferred
• 4x10 hour day shifts, staggered start times between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, Monday–Friday with a rotating day off each week
• Primary call rotates approximately once every 4 weeks on a weekday and every 5th–6th weekend; backup call is approximately 7 days (including a weekend) every 9 weeks
• No float requirement

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of IR Technologist experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Neuro experience including stroke intervention required
• Inpatient hospital experience required
• Experience with PACS and contrast administration required
• Proficiency with Siemens and Philips x-ray equipment required
• Current BLS and ARRT certification required; license required if applicable
• ARRT advanced certification preferred
• Experience in outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, teaching hospital, community hospital settings, or ablations preferred
• Two manager or supervisor professional references from within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references required prior to start
• Previous permanent, PRN, or employee pool staff of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler

Additional Information

• Orientation takes place during week one; candidate must be available for classes each day and must complete 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO is not permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday, and anything beyond 7 days requires facility approval
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but will be considered at a different pay rate
• Travel pairs are welcome but must have their own transportation and be comfortable with different schedules
• Scrubs are provided
