Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and proficiency in a full range of IR procedures including neuro and body, using Siemens and Philips equipment.

Details

  • Inpatient hospital IR unit serving a predominantly adult and geriatric population, with some adolescent patients
  • Procedures include stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral, biopsies, drainages, upper and lower extremity, abdominal and pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, venous access, and neurological studies including stroke intervention
  • Daily caseload of 13–17 cases
  • Primary imaging equipment includes Siemens and Philips; Acuson preferred
  • EMR systems Epic and McKesson preferred
  • 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with staggered start times between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM
  • Call rotation shared with the team: primary call approximately once every 4 weeks on a weekday and every 5th–6th weekend; backup call approximately 7 days (including a weekend) every 9 weeks
  • No float requirement

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of IR Technologist experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Current BLS and ARRT certification required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred; license required if applicable
  • Inpatient hospital experience required
  • Proficiency in neuro IR (including stroke intervention) and body IR procedures required
  • Experience with contrast, PACS, and Siemens and Philips x-ray equipment required
  • Outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, and/or teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references required prior to start
  • Previous permanent, PRN, or employed staff of this health system must have a 12-month gap before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required

Additional Information

  • Perform a full range of interventional radiology procedures including neuro and body IR, with required skill in stroke intervention
  • Hospital orientation takes place during week one; travelers must be available for classes each day
  • 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules required; modules must also be completed annually
  • Scrubs provided
  • No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if it does not fall on a holiday, with anything beyond that requiring facility approval
  • Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but may be subject to a different pay rate
  • Travel pairs are allowed, provided each traveler has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules
