Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric critical care experience for a night shift travel position at a children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Respiratory Care department in a pediatric hospital setting
- Previous experience in a children's-only hospital is preferred
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
- RRT credential required
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Oklahoma (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in a critical care setting preferred
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS from AHA required (must be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
- Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
- Document treatment information and patient responses in a computerized medical record system
- Serve as a resource person to medical staff and ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
- Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
- Provide age-appropriate respiratory care across all areas served by the department
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before becoming eligible for another contract
- This facility has strict compliance deadlines — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon booking
