Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care, inpatient rehab, or SNF experience for a 13-week day shift assignment at a 472-bed acute care teaching facility in Atlantis, FL.
Details
- 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit within a 472-bed acute care medical/surgical facility specializing in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and women's services
- Patient population includes orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and general med/surg cases
- Day shift hours, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 8-hour shifts
- One weekend per month required, with compensating weekdays off
- Schedule influenced by surgical volume, with weekend and holiday rotation
- No night shifts
- Average of 12 staff on shift, including a Director, Lead PT, 4–5 PTs, and 5–6 PTAs
- EMR: Meditech
- Equipment includes treatment beds, exercise balls, resistance bands, treadmills, and exercise bikes
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in acute care, inpatient rehab, or SNF settings required
- Active PT license required where applicable
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
- DPT preferred
- Must be able to work varied day shift hours
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- Two professional references required (position is located in Florida)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates will be considered

- Facility is a nationally recognized academic teaching hospital
- Treatment responsibilities include evaluation and care of inpatient orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and general med/surg populations
- Team environment includes collaboration with OTs, PTAs, a Lead PT, and a Director
- Grey scrubs required
- Strong critical thinking, time management, compassion, and teamwork are valued qualities for this role
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
