Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Night shift position, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Telemetry unit within a 355-bed Duke LifePoint hospital
• Cardiac specialty unit serving a generalized cardiac patient population ranging from young adults to elderly adults
• Common diagnoses and procedures include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS
• 24-bed unit with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Equipment includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitoring devices
• Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• May occasionally be required to float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a telemetry or cardiac setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Experience with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation is offered twice monthly
• The facility is home to specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, and a Level 3 NICU, among others
• Described as a family-oriented unit
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
