Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a night shift MICU position in Nashville, TN, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and active ACLS and BLS certifications.

Details

• Medical ICU (MICU) setting in a 31-bed unit within a hospital environment
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio is typically 2:1, with 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertion, arterial line insertion, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
• Equipment used includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
• Charting is done in Meditech
• Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per schedule block; schedules are built in 4-week increments with some self-scheduling
• Contract staff are first to float; floating to med/surg may be required based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for MICU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Unit secretary is available during day shift; occasional nurse extern may work as a tech
• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
