Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac ICU (Ellison 9) position at a major academic medical center in Boston, requiring at least 2 years of Level 1 ICU experience with mechanical circulatory support and advanced heart failure expertise.
Details
- 16-bed Cardiac ICU unit within a large academic medical center in Boston, MA
- Patient population includes multisystem failure with a specialty focus on advanced heart failure and fresh post-op cardiac surgical patients
- Supports patients on mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices including Impella, durable VAD, ECMO, and IABP
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
- 36-hour weekly schedule with rotating day/night shifts
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- Epic used for charting
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 ICU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support (MCS) highly preferred
- Expertise in advanced heart failure management required
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Candidates must provide proof of active MA licensure — verified through both NURSYS and BON
- Certifications must be AHA-issued only
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced pay rate
- No validated parking available at this Boston location; public parking lots are available at a daily cost, and public transportation is recommended
- Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
