Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology position at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARRT-R certification.

Details

• Full-time diagnostic radiology position at a large acute care teaching hospital with Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designations, as well as Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
• Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
• Department averages 350–400 patients per day
• EMR is Epic; experience preferred
• Equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Intelli-C multipurpose unit, Konica and Shimadzu portables, and GE and Siemens R/F rooms
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• No floating required
• On-call is required and rotated fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff based on team size
• No weekend/weekday rotation — travelers remain on the contracted shift and schedule
• Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in diagnostic radiology
• Current ARRT-R certification required
• Current BLS required
• Active state license required if applicable
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform a full spectrum of diagnostic radiology exams across adult and pediatric populations
• Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager, with a diverse team ranging from new grads to long-tenured staff
• Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions, followed by approximately 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler needs)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Black scrubs are required for technologists
• Free parking is available in several on-site parking decks
• Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
• RTO requires manager approval
