Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology position at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARRT-R certification.
Details
- Full-time diagnostic radiology position at a large acute care teaching hospital with Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designations, as well as Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
- Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
- Department averages 350–400 patients per day
- EMR is Epic; experience preferred
- Equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Intelli-C multipurpose unit, Konica and Shimadzu portables, and GE and Siemens R/F rooms
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
- No floating required
- On-call is required and rotated fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff based on team size
- No weekend/weekday rotation — travelers remain on the contracted shift and schedule
- Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in diagnostic radiology
- Current ARRT-R certification required
- Current BLS required
- Active state license required if applicable
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform a full spectrum of diagnostic radiology exams across adult and pediatric populations
- Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager, with a diverse team ranging from new grads to long-tenured staff
- Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions, followed by approximately 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler needs)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Black scrubs are required for technologists
- Free parking is available in several on-site parking decks
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
- RTO requires manager approval
