Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cath Lab position at a Level II pediatric trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a WA state or compact RN license.
Details
- Pediatric Cath Lab unit within an 82-bed Level II pediatric trauma center with 1 combined Cath/EP Lab
- Pediatric congenital diagnostic and interventional cases include LHC/RHC, PDA/VSD/ASD closures, septostomy, congenital structure stenting/ballooning, and collateral closure
- Pediatric electrophysiology cases include pacemaker implant/generator exchanges, loop recorder implant/removals, and EP studies with radiofrequency ablations for SVT, WPW, atrial tach, and PVC
- Sedation needs are managed by Anesthesia; RN responsibilities focus on circulator role and patient monitoring
- Monitoring systems in use: PACS (Picom), hemodynamic (Merge), and C-arm (Siemens Artis) — experience preferred
- EMR: Epic Cupid (experience preferred)
- Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 0700–1730, 40 hours per week
- No floating required
- On-call required: 7 call shifts per 2-week pay period, including weekends; weekday call runs end-of-shift to 0700 the following day; weekend call runs end-of-shift Friday to 0700 Monday
- Call rotation includes approximately 1–2 weekends per month (anticipated every 3rd weekend)
- Holiday coverage is call-based and included in the department call rotation
- 45-minute response time required for on-call; no sleep room available
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; prior pediatric cath lab experience strongly preferred
- Experience as a circulator and patient monitor in cath lab or EP lab cases required
- Two professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, etc.) required prior to start; one reference may be submitted at time of consideration

- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Scrubs are provided by the facility, including lead; note that extended sizing is available for scrubs but not for lead aprons
