Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center or high-volume ED, with multiple certifications required prior to start.
Details
- 101-bed hospital emergency department
- Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Support staff includes ED techs (cardiac monitoring and internal processing), triage staff, and unit clerks on days and nights
- Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Documentation system: Cerner
- Schedule requires every other weekend availability; scheduling must meet the needs of the department and block scheduling is not available
- Floating is limited within the ED only — candidates must be flexible to work all sections of the ED
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN with at least 1 year of ER experience required
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) strongly preferred
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- AHA or ARC certifications accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Professional reference required (2 references required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Navy scrubs required
- Candidates must demonstrate teamwork, real-time coaching ability, and flexibility across all ED sections
- Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patient boards and patients updated throughout their visit
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
