Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel contract in Olney, IL, requiring a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Surgical/OR unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift, 4x9-hour shifts Monday through Friday (40 hours per week)
• On-call rotation required on a rotating basis during weekdays, weekends, and holidays — must be able to arrive to the department within 20 minutes
• Weekend shift coverage required on a backup call rotation basis
• Holiday shift rotation required
• No floating requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all through American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include preparing the OR suite with appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
• Performs patient identification, transport to the OR suite, and proper positioning using safety precautions and positional aides
• Conducts timeouts upon entry to the suite, prior to incision, and prior to exiting the OR
• Supports the surgical team during procedures and transports patients to PACU with handoff to the receiving RN
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation throughout the patient care continuum
• Develops and continuously modifies individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
• PTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
