Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active MI RN license.
Details
- Acute Medical/Surgical unit on the 6th floor of a 225-bed specialty care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
- Adult and geriatric patient population (ages 18+)
- Patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Rotating weekend coverage required
- Occasional floating to similar units required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-stress environment
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

- Hospital specialties include Heart & Vascular, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
- BSN is preferred for this position
- Orientation is conducted on a bi-weekly schedule
- Scrub color is Galaxy Blue; Navy is also acceptable
- Fingernails must be kept clean and not excessive in length per the Hand Hygiene Policy; tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered; excessive jewelry is not permitted
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
