Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Work in a 39-bed combined Med/Surg Telemetry and Acute Stroke Unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Unit specializes in acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and acute medical patients, utilizing an adjustable acuity care delivery model
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response and code team participation, peripheral IV line care and management, respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, non-invasive airway management), and isolation precautions
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white

• Unit practices evidence-based stroke care across primary prevention and acute care phases
