Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Telemetry position at a cardiac specialty unit in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in a 355-bed hospital
• 24-bed Telemetry unit with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Cardiac specialty unit treating generalized cardiac patients ranging from young adult to elderly adult
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS
• Equipment used includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitors
• Cerner EMR used on the unit
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN telemetry or cardiac nursing experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Hands-on experience with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation is offered twice monthly
• The facility is a Duke LifePoint Hospital featuring specialized centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, and Orthopedics, among others
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
