Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Anchorage, AK, requiring an active Alaska RN license and experience in ortho, total joints, neuro, and robotics cases.
Details
- Located in the Operating Room (OR) of a main hospital building in Anchorage, AK
- 11-OR suite performing total joints, multi-level spine fusions, and a variety of Xi robotic cases (GYN, colorectal, general), with minimal ENT, dental, eye, or plastics cases
- Day shift: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM in 12-hour shifts, with weekend availability preferred
- Patient ratio is 1:1 in the OR
- Day shift is staffed with an average of 8 RNs, 8 scrub techs, and 5 surgical support techs; night shift operates with one charge RN and one scrub tech with call team backup
- On-call is required, averaging 5–6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift per 8-week sign-up period (approximately 5–6 shifts every 4 weeks)
- EMR: Epic
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical OR RN experience
- Experience in ortho, total joints, neuro, and robotic surgery required
- Circulator experience preferred; scrub experience also a plus
- CNOR certification preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Primary role is patient advocate as circulator, also serving as a resource for the sterile field
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- A positive, team-oriented attitude is important for success in this unit
