Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Orthopedic Surgery unit in Summit, NJ, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active NJ RN license.

Details

• Inpatient orthopedic surgery unit within a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7am)
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license (or compact license) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the perioperative continuum, including pre-operative and post-operative evaluation and education
• Provide individualized nursing care to surgical patients, accounting for procedure type and anesthesia
• Support Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness based on proposed surgery, patient age, and health status
• Maintain accurate documentation of the nursing process, patient progress, and patient education in Epic
