Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an OR Float Pool position specializing in the Thoracic/Vascular team at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Large 1,000+ bed academic hospital with a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
• Level 1 trauma center
• Assigned to the Thoracic/Vascular team within the OR Float Pool
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases (Children's Hospital OR is a separate facility)
• All case types performed including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, and lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (specific days vary based on unit needs; block scheduling is not available)
• Late stays required based on unit needs
• Floating between ORs within the same location may be required; no cross-location floating

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required and must be on file at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Thoracic/vascular OR experience required
• Proficiency in endovascular cases required for circulators and scrub roles
• Scrub experience required; must be able to both circulate and scrub

Additional Information

• RN will serve on the Thoracic/Vascular team within a high-acuity, large academic OR environment
• Late stays are an expected part of the role based on surgical schedule demands
• 13-week assignment
