Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Step Down position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of experience, tracheostomy care, and step-down unit experience.
Details
- Work in a Medicine Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
- Cares for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex acuity
- Tracheostomy care is performed in this unit
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- MS/Step Down experience required; ICU experience preferred
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or a valid Compact (eNLC) RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the AHA required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Step down unit experience required
- Tracheostomy care experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to interventions
- Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (prior contracts are limited to one extension, totaling no more than 26 weeks)
- All onboarding requirements, including drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements, must be completed promptly — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced and start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliant candidates
