Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float Pool position at a Magnet, Level II Trauma, academic medical center in Salem, Oregon, requiring strong telemetry or IMC experience and an active Oregon RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting within a 569-bed Magnet, Teaching, Level II Trauma Center
- Float Pool position supporting all adult inpatient units, including MS, Tele, Stepdown, and IMC units
- Float pool scope includes the Emergency Department, Psychiatric Medical Center, ICU, inpatient rehabilitation, and vascular access units
- Floating to West Valley Hospital (sister facility in Dallas, OR) is a requirement of this role
- Patient ratio of 1:4–6 (RN) with CNA support
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7:30a (3x12)
- Every other weekend required
- Epic EMR — experience required, no exceptions
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Oregon RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele/PCU or IMC experience within the last 3 years
- Strong telemetry or IMC experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing cardiac drips (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone)
- Skills required: O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE, and rapid response team activation
- COVID vaccination required — no exemptions

- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius requirement
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO requests exceeding 10 days require approval and must be established prior to submission — additional requests after submission may result in cancellation
- Block scheduling is not available
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
