Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry float pool position in Tucson, AZ, requiring telemetry experience and a willingness to float across multiple units and facilities.

Details

• Float pool position covering Med/Surg (Ortho/Neuro), Telemetry, and potentially PCU units
• May also be assigned to care for admitted patients boarding in the ED
• Rare possibility of floating to sister facilities within the health system
• Typically assigned to one unit per shift, with rare mid-shift unit changes based on census
• Standard patient ratio is 1:6; ratio adjusts to 1:4–5 when working in the ED holding area
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• EMR: Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact license recognized in AZ required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Telemetry experience is required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

• Responsible for applying the nursing process to deliver safe, patient-centered care in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
• Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership in care planning and prioritization
• Delegates patient care tasks appropriately based on staff education and experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• Scrubs: any color accepted
