Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry float pool position in Tucson, AZ, requiring telemetry experience and a willingness to float across multiple units and facilities.
Details
- Float pool position covering Med/Surg (Ortho/Neuro), Telemetry, and potentially PCU units
- May also be assigned to care for admitted patients boarding in the ED
- Rare possibility of floating to sister facilities within the health system
- Typically assigned to one unit per shift, with rare mid-shift unit changes based on census
- Standard patient ratio is 1:6; ratio adjusts to 1:4–5 when working in the ED holding area
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- EMR: Cerner
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or compact license recognized in AZ required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
- Telemetry experience is required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for applying the nursing process to deliver safe, patient-centered care in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership in care planning and prioritization
- Delegates patient care tasks appropriately based on staff education and experience
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
- Scrubs: any color accepted
