Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Ogden, UT, requiring at least 2 years of clinical experience and an active UT or compact RN license.

Details

• 26-bed Medical Unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Patient population includes post-cath lab (cardiac procedure) patients returning to the unit
• Advanced skills utilized on the unit include NG/NJ tubes, chest tubes, and heparin drips
• Documentation system: Meditech
• 4 weekend shifts required per month
• Floating may be required to Surgical or Acute Rehab units
• Techs and unit secretaries are available for support
• Equipment includes Hoyer lifts, rolling computers, and rolling VS units
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active UT or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or a related specialty
• BSN preferred
• Proficiency in medication administration and controlled substance knowledge
• Familiarity with normal vital sign limits and lab values
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include basic patient care, vital sign monitoring, lab interpretation, medication administration, and management of advanced interventions such as NG/NJ tubes, chest tubes, and heparin drips
• Navy blue scrub tops and bottoms are required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• The unit has a strong team culture with a positive attitude and ample support for new staff
• The unit has received recognition including a Safety Catch Award and multiple Daisy Award recipients
