Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel assignment in Ogden, UT, requiring at least 2 years of clinical experience and an active UT or compact RN license.
Details
- 26-bed Medical Unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 6:1
- Patient care technicians are available on the unit
- Equipment used includes Hoyer lifts, rolling computers, and rolling vital signs monitors
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Day shift: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
- Requires 4 weekend shifts per month
- May float to Surgical or Acute Rehab units
- Post-cath lab patients return to this unit following heart procedures in the cath lab
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active UT or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN clinical experience
- Med/Surg experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Proficiency in medication administration and controlled substance knowledge
- Experience with NG/NJ tubes, chest tubes, and heparin drips
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include basic patient care, vital signs monitoring, lab value interpretation, and medication administration
- The unit is supported by a collaborative team with a positive, supportive culture and a strong orientation for new staff
- The unit has received recognition including the Safety Catch Award and multiple Daisy Award recipients
- Navy blue scrub tops and bottoms are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
