Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 12-week cardiac cath lab assignment at a Level 3 trauma acute care hospital in the Bryan/College Station, TX area.

Details

  • Work in an acute care hospital cardiac cath lab environment across two campuses: a primary Bryan campus and a College Station campus
  • The Bryan campus operates 3 cath labs (typically 2 rooms running simultaneously) and the College Station campus operates 2 cath labs (typically 1 room running at a time)
  • Common cases include cardiac, peripheral, neuro, traumatic embolization, EP, and carotid procedures; IR/specials are handled by a separate department
  • EP cases include ICDs, pacemakers, and ablations (A-Flutter, SVT, A-Fib, and LAAO) — primarily performed Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Bryan
  • Neuro cases are performed at Bryan only; peripheral cases are performed at both campuses; carotid procedures are performed at College Station
  • Bryan campus averages 4–12 cases per day; College Station typically sees 4–6 cases per week
  • Each case is staffed with 3 team members during the day: a circulating RN, scrub tech, and monitor tech
  • Charting system is MEDITECH; hemodynamics monitoring uses Merge Hemodynamics
  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM (possible 6:00 AM start depending on cases)
  • On-call shifts are required in addition to scheduled day shifts

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
  • Active BLS, ACLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications required — pending certifications will not be accepted
  • Experience scrubbing routine cardiac cath procedures, peripheral, stroke, and EP cases including LAAO required
  • Experience with pre- or post-op care preferred; IR experience, including emergent stroke cases, is a plus
  • Level 3 trauma acute care hospital experience
  • Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
  • Two professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration

Additional Information

  • This is a float position between the Bryan (home base) and College Station campuses
  • All staff are cross-trained to monitor cases; this role is specifically sought for scrubbing
  • Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
  • Orientation is 12 hours
