Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a hospital surgical stepdown unit, requiring an active MA RN license and the ability to read telemetry strips.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg and Surgical Stepdown Unit (Davenport 5) with a total of 23 beds across two units — a 15-bed Med/Surg unit and an 8-bed Surgical Stepdown unit
• Surgical patient population including General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma cases
• RN-to-patient ratio is 3–5:1 on Med/Surg and 2–3:1 on the Surgical Stepdown; PCA-to-patient ratio is 6–10:1
• Night shift: 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Floating to other units is required
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA only; Red Cross and other providers not accepted at this location)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Required clinical skills: telemetry monitoring, chest tube management, NGT management, epidural management, and Capnography
• Preferred clinical skills: arterial line management and neo-synephrine management
• 2 professional references required for consideration
