Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.
Details
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 36 hrs/wk
- Patient ratio of 1:5 (may vary depending on staffing needs)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
- Charting via Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed prior to start
- Current BLS certification required (AHA-issued only)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Driver's License and SSN required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital, and Magnet-designated facility with 820 staffed beds
- Holiday rotation is required
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
- Scrub color requirement: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
- RTO must be submitted upfront; requests of more than 7 days or any holiday RTO are subject to facility approval
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Parking is available via a facility garage with a one-time $20 registration fee for a hang tag; the hang tag is only valid for that specific garage
