Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at an acute care facility in Windber, PA, with telemetry monitoring and a diverse surgical and cardiac patient population.

Details

• 33-bed Med/Surg floor in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes orthopedic (total knee and total hip), bariatric (gastric sleeve and gastrectomy), CHF, COPD, TIA, and cardiac cath patients requiring intervention
• 16 telemetry monitors on the unit; a CCU-trained staff member and supervisor are available on each shift to read monitor strips
• Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1
• Day shift with 7a or 11a start times available
• Shift lengths of 8, 10, and 12 hours available; block scheduling is offered for travel nurses
• Weekend scheduling is flexible — every other weekend or as fits the schedule
• EMR: MEDITECH
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred but not required
• MEDITECH experience is a plus
• BSN not required
• COVID vaccination required

• Provide care to a diverse med/surg population including post-surgical orthopedic, bariatric, and cardiac patients
• No scrub color requirement; scrubs are not provided by the facility
