Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, requiring a minimum of 1 year in a dedicated Neuro ICU and an active CO or compact RN license.
Details
- 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU at a Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- High-acuity, fast-paced surgical ICU environment
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Weekend requirement: minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period, subject to change based on staffing needs
- Floating required per unit needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting via Epic
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS (both AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU
- Proficiency in hourly neurological assessments
- Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Management
- Experience with External Ventricular Drain (EVD) / Intraventricular Drain management
- Experience with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) Management
- Experience with post-thrombectomy and post-craniotomy (including post-brain tumor resection) care
Additional Information
- 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if the required experience is met
- Navy scrubs required
- Up to 10 RTO days may be approved; RTO is not permitted during June 28–July 9 or September 2–September 12
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are subject to a local bill rate
