Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• 13-week travel contract on a Med/Surg Tele unit within a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Patient population includes complex medicine cases, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Standard patient ratio of 1:6, with flexibility to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 ratio as needed
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Charting via Epic; proficiency required
• On-unit telemetry monitoring performed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; valid NIHSS must be submitted for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Skills required include: telemetry monitoring, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), feeding tube care, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, peripheral and PICC line management, IV insertion, heparin protocols, ortho trauma care, total joint replacement care, surgical drain management, HFNC and supplemental oxygen management, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
