Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU travel position requiring a minimum of 1 year in a dedicated Neuro ICU and competency in advanced neurological and neurosurgical patient care.
Details
- 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU within a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center
- High-acuity, fast-paced surgical ICU environment
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30), various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- Floating required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting system: Epic
- Competency required in: Hourly Neurological Assessments, Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Management, External Ventricular Drain (EVD) management, Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) Management, Post-thrombectomy care, and Post-craniotomy care (including post brain tumor resection)
Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
Additional Information
- Navy scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if the required experience is met
- RTO is capped at 10 days maximum for the duration of the contract
- RTO is not permitted during the following blackout periods: June 28 – July 9, 2026 and September 2 – September 12, 2026
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are considered local for this position
