Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent experience, night shift availability, and AZ or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
- B3A Cardiopulmonary Telemetry and Neuro unit with 26 beds
- Patient population includes neuro, CVA, pulmonary, and general telemetry cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4; PCTs available at a ratio of 1:13
- Centralized telemetry monitoring; RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
- Equipment includes Airvo/High Flow for ventilatory support
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
- Every other weekend required
- Travelers are first to float and may float to a sister facility
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
- Charge nurse on unit with no patient assignment; unit manager also present
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or Compact (NLC) license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
- Required certifications (must be active, not pending): BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry or neuro telemetry RN experience, with experience within the past 6 months required
- Ability to interpret EKGs
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- A Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam must be passed prior to offer acceptance — maximum of 2 attempts allowed with no exceptions
- A pass/fail Sim Lab assessment on sterile technique (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is administered on the first day of orientation; study guides will be provided
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 days on the unit
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by driver's license address
- Navy scrubs required
- Hospitalist on-site during the day and available on-call at night; no intensivist coverage
