Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level III Trauma acute care hospital, performing high-quality CT examinations across a broad patient population from neonates to geriatrics.
Details
- Work setting is a Level III Trauma, acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
- CT department serves inpatient, outpatient (Fridays only), ER, and scheduled interventional cases (Fridays only)
- Patient population ranges from newborn through geriatrics
- 3x12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- On-call rotation covering Monday–Thursday, 5:00 PM – 6:00 AM; call frequency is approximately every 4–5 weeks and is activated for call-outs or high-volume/trauma situations
- No floating between service lines or sister facilities
- Epic EMR; experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience
- Current BLS (AHA only), ARRT (CT), and SCRQSA (CT) certifications required
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with CT certification
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) registration required
- Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology
- SC state license required; license must be active and in hand at time of start
- Radiation dosimetry badge required — must be provided by the agency, as the facility does not supply badges to travelers
- Proficiency in IV placement, contrast administration, biopsies, and PACS system required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols, including inpatient, ER, and interventional cases
- Reports to the CT Manager and Director of Radiology
- Online orientation modules must be completed prior to start date
- Scrub color: Teal top and black bottom
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- The facility is located in a hurricane-prone region; travelers should be aware that from June through November, all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties, with peak activity in August and September
- Free parking is available on-site
