Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology / Special Procedures Technologist with 2+ years of experience and extensive endovascular expertise, including required hands-on experience with Siemens Zeego and Pheno systems, for a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

- Special Procedures unit within a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
- High-acuity hybrid OR environment performing complex endovascular and interventional radiology procedures
- Procedures include FEVAR/PMEG, EVAR, TEVAR, AAA/TAA repair, angiograms, declots, lysis, stenting, embolization, TAVRs, and more
- Equipment includes Siemens Zeego and Pheno hybrid imaging systems, Siemens portable C-arm, and devices such as Penumbra, AngioJet, Shockwave, IVUS, Jet Stream, and Medrad
- Charting via Epic EMR
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, scheduled per unit needs with possible late shifts a few times per week
- Flexible on-call schedule, approximately 8 calls per month, varying with rotation
- Holiday call coverage may be required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of interventional radiology or special procedures experience
- Hybrid OR experience required
- More than 1 year of hands-on experience with Siemens Zeego and Pheno systems required
- Experience with endovascular devices including Penumbra, AngioJet, Shockwave, IVUS, Jet Stream, and Medrad required
- Knowledge of PACS, advanced vascular imaging features, digital subtraction, road mapping, and measurements required
- Familiarity with vascular supplies including balloons, diagnostic catheters, wires, and sheaths required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Current ARRT certification and BLS (AHA) required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- SC state license required if applicable
- Must provide SSN and Driver's License for consideration
- Must be able to work independently and under pressure in a high-acuity setting
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
Additional Information
- Perform complex endovascular procedures including hybrid OR cases, vascular interventions, and structural heart procedures in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- No scrubbing required for this position
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approvals are based on department needs
- Online orientation modules are completed prior to start date
- Local candidates (within 60 miles) are considered on a case-by-case basis
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
- Parking is available at a nearby garage for a one-time $20 registration fee for a hang tag; the hang tag is only valid for that specific garage
