Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down/SCU Charge RN position at a Critical Access, Level 4 trauma facility in Minnesota, requiring at least 2 years of experience and charge nurse experience.

Details

• Step-Down/SCU (Special Care Unit) within a Critical Access, Level 4 trauma center with 19 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Special procedures include central line insertion, cardioversion, arterial line insertion, and chest tube insertion
• Special equipment includes NICOM, Nihon Kohden monitors, Heated High Flow (Airvo), BiPAP (V60), and ventilator (PB980)
• Charting via Epic (Excellian); experience required
• 13-week contract with a 4x12 night shift structure

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of Step-Down/SCU nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
• At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Serves as charge RN in the Step-Down/SCU, overseeing unit operations and patient care coordination during night shifts
• Pre-start modules are required to be completed before the first day of the assignment
• Candidates who have previously worked at the facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
