Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center position requiring strong scrub and circulate skills across Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, and Neuro with a mandatory float requirement.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital in a high-acuity environment
- Patient population includes Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, and Neuro surgical cases
- Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
- On-call requirement: one shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, either 7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM; no weekday call
- This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, potentially to units outside their primary area of competency
- Charting is performed in Cerner
- Navy blue scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active IL RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
- Strong scrub and circulate skills in Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, and Neuro required
- Scrub experience in all other surgical areas preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility
Additional Information
- When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model is utilized
- Floating to other Cook County facilities may be required with as little as 2 hours' notice prior to shift start
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days at a time
- RTO on weekends will not be approved
- No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
- Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are eligible
