Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position at an acute care facility in Nebraska, requiring active NE or compact licensure and ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in an LDRP unit
- Patient population includes antepartum, triage, labor, postpartum, and newborn care
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
- 4-bed unit with approximately 100–125 births per year
- Common drips include Pitocin, insulin, fluids, and antibiotics
- IV pumps used: Alaris
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Floating to MedSurg is not required but the ability to task in that unit is preferred
- Charge nurse is present on each shift and does not take a patient assignment
- Blocked scheduling approved
Requirements
- Active NE or compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Current certifications required (no pending accepted): BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- A driver's license must be provided for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license is used to verify permanent address
- A pass/fail open-book exam on orientation skills is administered on the first Friday of orientation — a score of 90% or higher is required to pass
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove them will result to contract termination
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit or CHI-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- 13-week assignment with a 13-week cancellation policy allowing up to 4 shifts canceled by the facility
