Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ED Flow Navigator role in a high-volume Level II trauma center Emergency Department, requiring 2+ years of experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and ACLS.
Details
- 101-bed Emergency Department in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Support staff includes ED techs (cardiac monitoring and internal processing), triage staff, and unit clerks on days and nights
- Equipment used includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Documentation system: Cerner
- Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet department needs and block scheduling is not available
- No floating outside of the ED, but must be flexible to float to all sections within the ED
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
- Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- All certifications must be AHA or ARC issued and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
- CPI alternatives (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA) may be accepted in lieu of CPI
- Ability to coach and provide real-time feedback; strong teamwork mentality
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri
Additional Information
- The ED Flow Navigator role requires the ability to work across all areas of the ED and actively support patient flow and team operations
- Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and keeping patient boards and patients updated throughout their visit
- This facility is an HCA Healthcare facility; previous HCA experience is preferred
- Navy scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- The department is known for strong teamwork, a welcoming culture, and serving a highly diverse, multilingual community
