Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) travel assignment at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring telemetry and cardiac drip experience on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital with 194 staffed beds
- Cardiac and Medical PCU functioning as a true ICU stepdown unit
- Patient population includes heart cath patients requiring BiPAP, cardiac and vasoactive drips (e.g., Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio), and PCU crisis criteria management
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- No on-call requirements
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit
- Charting via Cerner (experience required)
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
- Telemetry experience required
- IV start experience required
- Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- Experience with BiPAP and high-flow oxygen required
- Trauma level experience (Level I, II, III, or IV) required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- RN degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive eligibility reset break: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Ventilator experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Conscious sedation experience preferred
- Scrub colors required: red top, black bottoms
- Free parking available on-site
