Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for an Imaging department at a Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center in Bangor, ME, with OR/C-arm experience required.

Details

  • Acute care hospital Imaging department serving outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, MedSurg), and OR settings
  • Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center serving approximately two-thirds of the state of Maine, with air transport capabilities
  • 411-bed facility
  • Primarily adult and geriatric patients, with some pediatric and neonatal cases
  • Procedures include fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, orthopedic and ortho trauma, ICU, MedSurg, and ER imaging
  • Imaging department includes 3 rooms: 2 general X-ray rooms and 1 fluoroscopy room
  • Equipment includes Siemens Ysio and Siemens Multix Fusion (X-ray), Siemens Artis Zee (fluoroscopy), OEC/Siemens/Ziehm C-arms (OR), and Shimadzu DR Portables (mobile)
  • EMR: Cerner | PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
  • 36-hour variable shift schedule
  • Weekend rotation varies based on departmental need
  • No call required
  • Holidays covered on a rotating basis with other techs
  • May work in OR or perform inpatient portable scans in addition to fixed imaging rooms

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist, depending on type of experience
  • ARRT (R) certification required
  • BLS required
  • ME state license required; license required if applicable
  • OR/C-arm experience required
  • Experience with outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, MedSurg), and OR patient populations required
  • Permanent address must be 100+ miles south/southwest of the facility to be eligible
  • Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
  • Flu vaccination required for clearance; medical exemptions only, subject to facility approval
  • 2 references within the past year required for consideration — at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge nurse (no peer references)
  • Copies of all certifications required for consideration
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Travelers living 100+ miles north of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Orientation period of 1 to 1.5 weeks, adjusted based on experience and comfort level
  • Supported by a lead tech, department administration, internal transport team, and an on-site radiologist
  • 4-week schedules are provided to the best of the department's ability
  • RTO requires manager approval and must be submitted at the time of consideration
  • Scrub color: any solid, professional color; scrubs provided by facility if needed
  • Free parking on-site
  • Manager interviews are required
