Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience, with a Level 1 facility background preferred and 1 year of travel nursing experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Medicine Specialty Unit (Med/Surg Tele setting)
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours per week)
- 13-week travel contract
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
- 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Level 1 facility experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Full date of birth and full SSN required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
- Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to return; extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) is taken very seriously and must begin immediately upon commitment — non-compliance may result in cancellation
