Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg position at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Nephrology unit that functions as an extension of the Med/Surg floor at a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses/treatments including ESRD, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6
• Equipment includes VS machines, bladder scanner, lifts, thermal imaging, and IV pumps/tubing
• EMR: Cerner
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Minimum of 2 weekend shifts required per month
• Floating required as needed per facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
• ADN or higher required
• Skills checklist overall rating of 3.2 or above required

Additional Information

• Nephrology experience is preferred but not required
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
• Observation unit experience is a plus
• The facility is a Level III trauma center; due to its regional location, Level I and II trauma cases are also flown in
• An area-specific competency exam and screening questions are required for consideration
• Located in Farmington, NM — a scenic community in the San Juan River Valley near three rivers, four golf courses, five lakes, and six National Parks, with easy access to Durango, CO and Albuquerque, NM
