Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel assignment in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• Located on the 4 North floor of a 355-bed acute care hospital
• 18-bed Medical Surgical Combination unit serving an adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end-of-life/hospice care, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infection
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
• EMR: Cerner (experience required)
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float required as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units (accepting med/surg-level patients)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• IV competency required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

Additional Information

• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• The facility is home to a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 NICU
• The team is looking for strong patient advocates who are team players and can keep pace in a busy unit environment
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full time elsewhere during the assignment
