Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Boston, MA, requiring an active MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of inpatient OR experience.

Details

• Hospital-based surgical services department with 17 OR suites, staffed 24/7
• Surgical specialties include general, GYN, GU, oral, ENT, bariatrics, ortho, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatric, trauma, and spine surgery
• FLEX 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with day/night rotation (7a start on days, 7p start on nights)
• Required to work every 3rd weekend as needed
• Every other holiday coverage required
• 1 on-call shift per schedule period
• May float to a sister OR location as needed
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be placed at a reduced local pay rate

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient OR experience required; Level I trauma experience preferred
• Must be competent in at least 5 of the surgical services offered
• Scrub experience preferred; neuro, vascular, GYN, and GU scrub experience particularly preferred
• Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not listed as supervisor), one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
• Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) — note the test may only be taken twice

Additional Information

• Candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills
• Preferred experience includes neuro and vascular services in addition to general, GYN, and GU scrubbing
• References cannot be provided by fellow travelers; at least one reference from a travel/temporary assignment is preferred
