Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, with solid neuro experience and Cerner charting proficiency required.
Details
- Work in a mixed acuity Medical/PCU unit at a 194-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Unit serves oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary patient populations
- Med/Surg patients are cared for at a 1:5-6 ratio; PCU-level patients at a 1:3-4 ratio
- Patients include unstable strokes and those requiring BiPap support
- Drip experience required: Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin drips are used on the unit
- Day shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Charting via Cerner (experience required)
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
Requirements
- Active IN state, Compact, or IN temporary RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); AHA and RQI formats accepted
- Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
- Solid neuro nursing experience required
- Background in MS/Tele or PCU nursing accepted
- Cerner EMR experience required
- RN degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two supervisor references required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this position
- Any former permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Scrub colors: red top with black bottoms
- Parking is free
