Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel contract in Colorado, requiring a minimum of 4 years of obstetrics experience and an active CO or compact RN license.
Details
- Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit within a hospital-based birth center setting
- Patient population includes women in labor, postpartum patients, and newborns
- Responsibilities span the full continuum of maternal-newborn care including labor, delivery, postpartum, and infant care
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within one year of employment
- ACLS certification required within one year of employment
- Minimum 4 years of obstetrics nursing experience
- RN degree required
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods
- Possible exposure to blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, and other occupational hazards
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing labor assessments, monitoring labor progress, assisting with C-sections and inductions, and maintaining thorough documentation
- Administers IV medications and provides care during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, including patient education
- Prepares the delivery room, provides emotional support to patients and families, and coordinates patient transfers as needed
- Adheres to infection control principles and sterile technique protocols
- Reports directly to the Birth Center Manager
- Must be able to perform effectively in high-stress situations and communicate well with a diverse patient and staff population
