Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care experience, including Level 3 NICU skills, for a night shift travel assignment at a hospital in Lafayette, IN.
Details
- Respiratory Care department serving ICU/CCU, Med/Surg, ER, and Level 3 NICU patient populations
- 160-bed facility with a team of 32 respiratory therapy staff
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12s (36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call requirements
- Equipment includes PB and Drager V500 ventilators, Aerogen nebulizers, V60 BiPAP, HHFNC, Hamilton C-Transport, Oscillator, Jet ventilator, Nitric Oxide, and Bubble CPAP
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg, ER, and ICU settings
- Level 3 NICU experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP
- Proficiency with BiPAP, mechanical ventilators, and Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula (HHFNC)
- Experience assisting with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies
- Proficient EMR charting skills
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Active license required if applicable
- US SSN required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing ventilated and high-acuity patients across ICU/CCU, NICU, Med/Surg, and ER settings
- Candidates must be self-motivated, independent, and comfortable managing high patient loads and acuity levels
- EKG testing is required as part of the consideration process; candidates are allowed 2 attempts — if not passed, reapplication is possible after 30 days
- Scrub color: Pewter Gray
- New state-of-the-art hospital in a prime location with experienced, cohesive staff and progressive physicians
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be considered at a reduced rate
