Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma OR position requiring scrub and circulator skills with ortho and neuro experience, working 4x10 night shifts.

Details

Large Level I Trauma OR serving southwest Virginia, featuring 25 OR suites with 24/7 on-site nursing coverage
Surgical services include general, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotic, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine
Patient population spans all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, and geriatrics
Specialized equipment includes ROSA, Si and Xi da Vinci robots, Stealth, O-Arm, and HIPEC
Night shift schedule: 4x10s, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
Holiday rotation required; must work one holiday per 13-week contract

Requirements

Active Virginia state or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
Current BLS certification required
Scrub and circulator experience required; must be able to scrub total joints, craniotomies/neuro cases, and ortho trauma
Ortho and neuro OR experience required
Charge nurse experience highly preferred
Two professional references required for consideration
Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

The facility is located within a large academic teaching hospital that is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence
The OR serves as the region's only Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients
