Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Step-Down position at a 26-bed private room unit, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital inpatient unit (4th Floor Med/Surg Telemetry Step-Down)
• 26-bed unit with all private rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4-5:1
• All patients are on telemetry with continuous heart monitoring
• Step-down unit from ICU managing critical drips
• Patient population includes GI bleed, COVID, and respiratory distress cases
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Previous nursing experience preferred but not required
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge processes
• Coordinates care with an inter-professional team, including delegation and oversight of team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
